My Philosophy:

Information is worthless if you don't collect and examine it properly.

Many people just don't "get" statistics, and for good reason. It is not just number crunching, it is also something of a philosophy. Nothing is truly absolute, every probable outcome occurs in the range between the numbers 0 and 1, and the mathematics involved feature combinations of data to find more data.

Whether an art or science, statistics, when done correctly, can be extremely informative and helpful!

You will find that I am professional, personable, and deliver reports in the format you require that are both informative and comprehensible. All of my services include consulting as you need it, in order for you to understand and/or present your results with confidence.

I can perform most projects on a flat fee basis. The fee quoted includes all work to meet your specifications, including a written report and consulting. In essence, my fee includes everything you need to complete your project.

And, if in the rare instance I can't do it, I probably know someone who can.

Experimental Design Services.

Don't waste time and energy! Before you begin an experimental process allow me to develop a design that is robust, and will allow for objective and valid conclusions.

I use the following guidelines for experimental design:

  • Collaborate with the client to define objectives and state the problems and/or questions to be answered.
  • Define statistical hypotheses..
  • Select an appropirate study design.
  • Perform power analysis for best sample size.
  • Offer back-up/contingency plans "just in case".
  • Make certain the results will address the research question(s)
  • Consult with the client as needed to assure the methods and results are understood.

Biostatistics

I am experienced in all aspects of research methodology and analysis of biostatistics, with special emphasis in epidemiology, environmental health, and health services research.

I feel my greatest strength in this area of statistics is my ability to work well with others to achieve their goals. Whether you are a physician, nurse, administrator, researcher, or project manager, I enjoy the collaborative process immensely and love to share knowledge in this field. I never get bored with biological sciences, there is always so much more to learn and discover!

Quality Control

Indicators of quality seem to cover every letter in the alphabet; X-bar, R-bar, S-bar...this is the most straightforward type of statistics (in my opinion). And I'm good at it. Once I show you how it is done you'll probably never need me again. But  that's ok, I just want you to stay in compliance!

Environmental Research and EPA Compliance

Statistics are a valuable tool in assessing regulatory compliance. I offer services in sampling design and measurement testing. I am familiar with federal guidelines and most state guidelines for analysis and reporting of data collected. In addition to compliance work, I also specialize in species population studies and agricultural research.

Recent projects include analysis of groundwater data for the an Army base in Oklahoma, and design and reporting of a phytoremediation study on a landfill site in Turkey.

Survey Instruments and Methods

In order to be effective, a survey instrument should be valid and reliable. I have developed surveys for psychology and marketing research, with an emphasis on Likert scaled instrumentation. I also provide factor analysis and reliability testing to insure your instrument is measuring succinct factors. In addition, I am knowledgeable in ways to increase subject response and reduce response bias.
